Why do I need a medical brace?

In order to promote healing and to prevent re-injury, we provide a wide variety of braces for different areas of the body. Please visit our Product section to find one that fits your area of concern.

Question 3

What is the process for custom orthotics?

Accepted Answer

Please call or text to book an appointment with our dedicated chiropractor who is available on Mondays and Tuesday evenings. He will conduct an in-person gait analysis and 3D scan of your foot. An experienced lab will custom make your orthotics in approximately two weeks.

Why do I have to have a fitting?

All our products are tailored to your individual measurements. A fitting is required to get you the best size possible. This is also required by insurance companies.
Repeat purchases of the same product within 1 year do not require a new fitting unless you are experiencing a new medical condition. Any new product does require a fitting.

Can you deliver my products?

Yes we do! For a flat rate of $15 CAD we deliver your products to your place once the fitting is complete.
 
The home fitting (required for all products), completed in the comfort of your home, will be an additional $30 CAD.

What brand do you distribute?

Accepted Answer

We distribute Mediven products.
 
Mediven compression stockings are certified medical grade and made in Germany.
 
North America does not have a standard for compression stockings so many cheap compressions are being sold on the internet but there is no regulations about if it meets the medical standards. 
 
We only distribute European medical grade compression stockings that have been approved.

Question 8

How do I know if my insurance company covers compression stockings or braces?

Please contact us with your insurance information and we would be happy to inquire in advance to your insurance company regarding:
- any doctor's note that may need to be obtained prior to measurement
- quantity of stockings reimbursed
- percentage of balance reimbursed

A pre-determination can be provided at request.
 
You may also personally call your insurance company and they will provide you with the information required.

Where can I get a doctor's note?

You can procure a doctor's note by visiting your family doctor or a walk in clinic near you.
You may also use online doctor websites you will speak with you over the phone or video call, there is a charge for online services. For more info on this service please call us and we will gladly walk you through the process.

What payment methods do you accept?

Acceptable payment methods are cash, e-Transfer, debit or credit (VISA, MASTERCARD and AMEX)

Do you charge tax?

All compression stockings, socks, and braces are medical devices. There will be no tax.

Do you treat lymphedema?

Accepted Answer

We regrettably do not treat lymphedema at our clinic. Please contact Mediven Canada directly for clinics that use their Circaid products for the treatment of lymphedema.
